Neil Gaiman
Extraordinary performance by Lenny Henry
I probably first listened to this around 2005, when it came out. Neil Gaiman is always a delight, but what really made this audiobook extraordinary was Lenny Henry's narration. Every character was distinct, and you felt you knew everything you needed to know about a new character the first time you heard the voice. I particularly remember Henry's rendition of the villain, Grahame Coats. It was so obviously the voice of a sleazeball, not to mention The World's Worst Boss. It was laugh-out-loud funny every time he spoke.
